i had a call earlier in the week from a guy at the evening post about akciddento. it seems he's a dub fan and wanted to do an article for next week about the whole thing and what's next etc so gaving the photographer came down to take some pics for the story. basically lots of me in the back hugging a big bottle of nitrous oxide and then some others staged to make it look like i'm having tea in the back.
turns out that gaving is also a keep surfer and is trying to pursuade his wife to let him but a mint caravelle that he's seen for cheap nearby....
good luck gavin!
also rolled into town to finish crimbo stuff and bought bolts to bolt on the casters to the bottom of the new tool box...
lovely.
shiny,
red,
it truly is a thing of beauty.
all i need now is a lovely new warm, well lit, spacious workshop to put it into....
;)
had a mad day running round,
met up with paul from st werburghs who's just aquired a t25 westie and was interested in buying my porsche wheels off me... nice chap. nice to meet more bristol bus people.
also calld into haldorfs to see what they had in the way of cheap tool boxes....
the snap on base on wheels i wanted was about £500 so that can wait...
they had all sorts of bits in there and i found the base unit i wanted but the middle box was missing and they had no more in stock so after a brief bit of haggling i got the grubby one that was on display at a knock down price and then spent a pleasant evening cutting some foam rubber mat to fit into the drawers.
i am happy but i truly feel that there is no hope for me.
my folks very kindly sent me some money in the post with instructions to go buy myself something... i don't think they've ever done this before so i'm determined to actuallybuy something - not just pay the electricity bill.
i've been window shopping a new tool box, a PROPER one . grown up kinda rolling on casters snap on 7 drawer one in red. i think it might be a fetish object - (i'm not too sure on that) - anyhow, i guess any pretense i have at not being a petrol head has gone out the window
get some clothes - no
get some music - no
go out to a gig - no
have a swank meal - no
buy a shiny red new tool box on casters with roller bearing drawers ?
hell yeah !
oh dear. i really have lost my life to spannering haven't I?
merry crimbo one and all !
tom at the evening post rang and hes doing an article on akciddento this week... seems hes a dubfan himself and there's bugger all other news going on so !
i did a 40 minute thing over the phone with him, about what we've been up to and what the new plans are. talked about the plans for the hightop...
(not that i think i've properly sorted that out yet but incase i haven't written what's up then...
the panel van is up for sale, the engine from it is being rebuilt and the turbo system reengineered with a new electronic injection system, either megasquirt or a wolf3d system (if budget allows) then into the hightop with the nitrous system.
slam it and beef up the soundsystem.
then off to tour europe in the summer !
book your tickets for spa francorchamps now!
:)
they're coming to do a photoshoot on friday morning :)
ps hello tom !
after spying an add on the brickyard i had a chat with steve at vwretro about some 18inc khan RS alloys he has.. lovely they are too. they have a little damage but they look ok so the porsche 928s on the hightop will soon be getting upgraded for something a littl emore bling...
after a fun two days at raceshack and some twiddling back at akciddento towers the westie t25 hightop now has a fully working nitrous install...
we installed the fogger into the top of the inlet manifold behind the base of the pierburg carb so you can hardly see it, matty made up some neat brackets to mount the solenoids too and i did the wiring for the twisted sanity progressive controller up front ...
it all runs lovely (so far) and although i've not dyno'd it and its only running ickle jets it made a welcome difference on the motorway etc... :)
i even cleaned the bus
!
its all getting ready for the volksworld shoot out at raceshack this saturday, 10th dec...
see you all there ?
install pics to follow !
